Be sure to surf safely!

Whenever we over hear people talking about non-stop pop-ups; we usually know what the problem is.  You can call it what you want; spyware, adware, viruses, trojans, spamware, etc.  We have one word that sums all of them up, and that word is ANNOYANCES...

There's nothing more frustrating then turning your computer on to get assaulted by web sites and pop ups that you aren't interested in.  The best way to protect yourself from these programs is to surf smart and never accept any type of third-party plug-in from a company you don't trust.  Most pop-up blocker software packages won't protect you from these annoyances, mainly because those annoyances are installed on your computer..

If you visit a website and it immediately prompts you to download some type of "shopping buddy", "search bar", or "internet optimizer", then you probably want to close that window immediately and never go back to that site again.  Believe us, you won't be missing much. 

There are plenty of software packages out there to help clean your computer of these annoyances; our recommendations are as follows:

Ad-Aware - Lavasoft's AdAware is probably the most recommended product for keeping your computer clean of annoyances.  The software is free to use for personal users; but has much more features for purchased registered versions.

SpyBot Search & Destroy - SpyBot S&D is another fabulous (and free!) program to help rid your computer of annoyances.

We here recommend that you use both products and run them on, at a minimum, of at least once per month. 

And remember...

When it doubt, close the browser window! Do not attempt to click anywhere inside of a pop up; all you are doing is inviting yourself into something you will regret!
